Description of Measure

This section of the codebook includes items from eight areas within the interview that describe aspects of the adolescent's family situation according to the collateral report. Specifically, we are including items here that describe the biological parent's generational status, the native language of the biological parents, educational attainment for parents (refers to parents they live with and is not limited to biological parents), employment status of parents (refers to parents they live with and is not limited to biological parents), presence of siblings in the household, criminal history of family members, the history of mental health hospitalization of family members, the history of substance use of family members.

Parental occupation was created using a seven-point scale ranging from 1 (unskilled employees) to 7 (major professionals) based on Hollingshead's occupational index (see Hollingshead, 1957).
